Selangor: The LuLu Group, one of Malaysia’s major retail operators, has expanded its footprint in the country by launching its fifth shop at Setia Ecohill Mall in Semenyih. Wholesale and retail trade sales reached RM130.7 billion in July 2022, representing a 41.0 percent increase year on year. Retail Trade sales increased 37.5 percent from July 2021 to July 2022. Retail Sale of Automotive Fuel in Specialised Stores (73.7%), Retail Sale of Other Goods in Specialised Stores (47.1%), and Retail Sale in Non-specialised Stores (39.1%) all contributed to this growth. This sub-revenues sector’s increased by 0.8% compared to June 2022.
YB Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Minister of Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs, officially inaugurated the supermarket and department store in the presence of Nishad PA, Director of LuLu Group Malaysia & Indonesia; Asif MA, Regional Director of LuLu Malaysia; and other dignitaries and businessmen.
The new shopping destination, which is strategically located at Setia Ecohill Mall in the Kajang-Semenyih growth corridor, is easily accessible via the Cheras-Kajang Expressway, SKVE (through SILK Highway) and LEKAS. It has a total area of around 36, 000 sq. ft. The new store has been designed using the latest retail space concepts and most modern technology for ease of shopping and will serve the 600,000 population in Semenyih and its nearby areas for their daily shopping needs.
With a supermarket on Level 1 and a department store on Level 2, the store has dedicated sections for groceries, dairy products, fish and seafood, fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, dry goods, fashion garments, electronics, IT, stationery, sports, footwear, luggage, among others. Lulu Supermarket offers a wide range of local products which are in popular demand and imported products such as roastery, delicatessen, and UK and US imported products which comes directly from Lulu Group sourcing companies around the world.
