Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia (PENYAYANG) organises the Piala Seri Endon Batik Design Competition as part of the Malaysia Batik-Crafted for the World Movement. The 17th edition of this prestigious Competition will take place in 2022. The Competition was created to discover and support, recognise, and encourage Malaysia’s batik-making talent, and it is open to Malaysians over the age of 18. Because Piala Seri Endon is a Batik design competition, each participant or team must create their own batik.

The competition comprises three (3) categories:

  1. Fashion Category
  2. Soft Furnishing category; and
  3. Handicraft category

For each of the three (3) groups:

  • First prize is RM30,000.00;
  • Second prize is RM10,000.00, and
  • Third prize is RM5,000,00

There are (5) consolation prizes of RM1,000.00 each for every category.

The Semi Finals of the Piala Seri Endon were held on August 20, 2022, at the Seri Pacific Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

From the three (3) categories, the following made it to the Semi Finals: (1) Fashion category

  1. Fashion category- 17 participants
  2. Soft Furnishing category- 9 participants
  3. Handicraft category- 10 participants

Twelve (12) from 17 participants (Fashion Category) qualified for the Piala Seri Endon Grand Finals to be held on 4th September 2022, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).


BONIA joined Piala Seri Endon as the Official Presenter in 2022. BONIA is proud to embark on this journey to nurture and preserve the national craft of Batik alongside the prestigious Piala Seri Endon.
